Construction Notice: May 5, 2008
Concrete Pouring This Week
Concrete pouring, this time for the second floor in the Town
Hall expansion building, is scheduled to take place early this week.
Because this process must be started and completed the same day,
some of the work is expected to continue into the evening and
overnight hours. Construction workers will be using internal lights
after dark within the building in order to complete this work along
with motorized tools to smooth the concrete. The work will be
confined to the interior of the building and there will be no
construction vehicle traffic on the streets during this time.
Saturday Construction Work Begins
May 10 will be the start of construction work taking place on
Saturdays, likely for the duration of the project to take advantage
of favourable weather conditions.
Additional Construction Notes
-This week, work will begin on completing the roof of the
expansion building, which is expected to take about 15 days.
-Work on the stone walls has begun.
-Glass has arrived onsite and is being installed in the building.

Construction Notice for April 17 /08
Concrete pouring to finish off the ground floor in the Town Hall
expansion building is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 17.
Because this process must be started and completed the same day,
some of the work is expected to continue into the evening and
overnight hours.
The construction workers will be using internal lights after dark
within the main floor in order to complete this work along with
motorized tools to smooth the concrete. The work will be confined to
the interior of the building and there will be no construction
vehicle traffic on the streets during this time.

"In The Zone"
The Downtown Business Improvement Area (DBIA)
and the Town of Milton are joining forces to encourage downtown shopping
with a “Let’s go shopping in the Zone” promotion, which begins October 1
and runs for the next year. Customers are invited to fill out contest
ballots available in downtown stores and businesses for a chance to win
prizes being offered each month by downtown merchants. In addition, some
retailers will be providing further offers and incentives to their
customers.
The Town adopted “In the Zone” as a slogan for the construction phase of
the Town Hall Expansion to create a sense of community and neighbourhood
for the residents, employees, shoppers and DBIA merchants who are in or
close to the construction zone

Promotions at downtown merchants
Special offers are wrapping up this month for customers wearing
"Town Hall Expansion-In the Zone" blue and white bracelets:
Country Mile: One free coffee per customer in August (Bracelets
are available at Town Hall Victoria Park and Town Hall Annex 555.)
Watch for new "In the Zone" downtown merchant
promotions this fall.

Milton has adopted “In the Zone” as a slogan for the construction phase
of the Town Hall Expansion. “In the Zone” is intended to create a sense
of community and neighbourhood for the residents, employees and downtown
businesses who will be in and around the construction zone.
